Sharing Cities docking station for public bike sharing opened in Lisbon

04/04/2018

The first two docking stations of Lisbon bike-sharing, funded by the Sharing Cities project, have opened in the pilot area. The two docking stations offer 20 bikes to serve the area of Marquês de Pombal square, where the Mobility Island will be installed.

The square is the radiating point for various important avenues: Liberdade, Duque de Loulé and Fontes Pereira de Melo, as well as the streets Braamcamp and Joaquim António de Aguiar. This area is where several companies, services, shops and households lie, being a busy place with a lot of people. Not just tourist but also commuters and residents.

The bike-sharing system will soon be fully spread to the entire city with 140 docking stations and 1410 bikes of which two out of three are electric.
