SHARING CITIES

The third and last call for applications for H2020 PROSPECT is now open! This is the last opportunity for regional and local authorities to join a peer-to-peer learning community and discover how to finance and implement sustainable energy and climate action plans using innovative schemes.

The PROSPECT community already gathers more than 100 participant cities, regions and energy agencies from 24 countries to exchange knowledge and experience on innovative financing schemes such as:

citizens finance: crowdfunding and cooperatives
energy performance contracting (EPC)
green bonds
guarantee funds
soft loans
revolving funds
third party financing

These schemes are explored under five thematic modules covering local energy and climate actions, especially within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors:

public buildings
private buildings
transport
public lighting
cross sectoral: planning, energy production and distribution, climate change adaptation

This third engagement campaign has two stages:

from 16 January to 6 February 2019 applications will be open to mentors
from 8 February to 6 March 2019 applications will be open to mentees

PROSPECT aims to encourage the exchange of knowledge and experience on innovative financing schemes used to implement sustainable energy and climate plans, especially within the framework of the Covenant of Mayors. Through peer mentoring activities and study visits, cities and regions learn how to finance the energy transition from the ones who understand it the most: their peers!
